Fire and First Response Stations
equipped with the RXC-2000 provide faster response by assigning the RXC
to manage doors, lights, P.A. systems and other services.
The RXC picks up the same radio page as the emergency
responders, and immediately begins its work. The unit controls services
such as:
- Unlocking doors.
- Activating fume extractors.
- Turning on bay lights.
- Turning off appliances such as stoves, heaters and air conditioners.
- Engaging thermostat setbacks.
- Opening overhead doors. Which doors are opened can be varied by the
page code.
- Activating P.A. system for live voice messages.
- Engaging safe lighting in sleeping quarters.
- Disengaging fire truck chargers and air brake pre-compressors.
- Engaging Right-Of-Way lights and strobes to alert drivers.
On-board timers and heady-duty relays handle multiple events and give
momentary, pulsed, latched, sequenced or timed events.
On-board switches can be attached to remote switches around
the station to allow any actions initiated by dispatch over the radio
to also be initiated locally by the pressing of a button at the station.
These buttons can also be programmed to cancel or reset any actions.
Of course, RXC actions can vary by the type of page received. A First Responder
or EMS call usually does not require a full station activation, while
an All-Call fire page, multiple station, or mutual aid calls normally
require a wider response. The RXC can determine the type of page and
respond to the level of the emergency.
Actions can also be programmed to vary depending upon the time of day.
For example, while you may want to activate the fire station siren
and external paging speakers during the day, this may not be appropriate
late at night or on a weekend. The RXC can easily handle these types
of variations. |
